Dr. Nicola DiFronzo-Heitzer
Dean of Admissions
Nicola DiFronzo-Heitzer graduated from Widener University in 2007 with an Ed.D in Higher Education Leadership, from Loyola College in 1995 with an M.S. in Clinical Psychology, and from Rutgers University in 1993 with a B.A. in Psychology. Nicola has always been in the field of education, first as a Diagnostician/Counselor at a community college in Baltimore, as a School Community Liasion in Philadelphia, and as an Assistant Director and eventually an Associate Director of Admissions at Thomas Jefferson University.
Nicola enjoys Harcum's "family atmosphere and the ability to work closely with the students and their families through the entire admissions process." Her goals as the Dean of Admissions at Harcum are "to continue to increase our student body through innovative recruitment and program development, while still offering a personal touch to our prospective students and their families," Nicola says. She would also like "to increase retention by making sure Harcum is 'the right fit' for our incoming students." In Nicola's free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, "usually over a good meal," she says, and reading; Nicola has been an active book club member for the past eight years. Nicola's other interests include dancing, traveling and "spending as much time as I can with my husband and our beautiful new son," she says. Rachel Bowen has been working in the field of Admissions since she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Television and Film Production from DeSales University in Center Valley, PA in 2004. Rachel likes Harcum because of the intimate learning environment available to its students; “Harcum is small with a lot of hands on instruction,” says Bowen. In her position as an Admissions Counselor, Rachel’s goal is simply: “to do the best job that I can do.” Some of Rachel’s favorite pastimes include trips to the stadium to see the Phillies play and relaxing spa vacations. A very interesting fact about Rachel is that her great grandmother babysat Elvis Presley! Rachel will be working with students primarily interested in Day Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Dental Assisting and Expanded Functions Dental Assisting (EFDA). Danielle Cebulko graduated from Penn State University Worthington Scranton campus in December of 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. Before coming to Harcum, Danielle completed an additional college semester to participate in a 480 hour internship in Penn State’s Office of Admissions. “It was during my first day that I knew Admissions Counseling was my future,” says Cebulko. “I like that Harcum is a small campus with large opportunities,” Danielle comments. “Everyone here is so warm and welcoming, eager to help you learn, and excited to see you succeed.” In her position, Danielle hopes to “bring fresh ideas and a new perspective.” Danielle spends most of her time with family, friends and her two dogs Max and Kobe. She enjoys watching romantic comedies, vacationing in the Outer Banks, North Carolina, and writing. Danielle hopes one day to write a children’s book. Danielle will be working with students interested in the Business Program (Business Administration, International Business, Sports Management, Retail (Fashion Merchandising) and Entrepreneurship), Fashion Design, Interior Design, General Studies, Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, Early Childhood Education, Human Services, and Evening Nursing. Harry Saylor holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University, where he graduated in the spring of 2008. Before coming to Harcum, Harry served as resident advisor in the Penn State dorms and assisted many prospective students as a “Lion Ambassador” in the Penn State Office of Admissions. “The people are great. It’s been really fun,” Harry says while describing his experience at Harcum. Harry also enjoys the surrounding area and convenient setting of Harcum’s Bryn Mawr campus. Harry’s favorite hobby is watching sports, including Penn State football followed closely by his interest in the Eagles and the Phillies. Harry also enjoys spending lots of time at the beach and being a mentor for his younger brother, now a college student! Harry will be assisting students interested in Veterinary Technology, Animal Center Management, Radiologic Technology, Physical Therapist Assistant (Day and Evening), and Occupational Therapy Assistant. Williams Admissions Counselor .jpg) Janelle Williams earned her B.S. degree in Business Administration from Cheyney University, and her Master’s degree in Public Administration from Penn State University. A service-oriented individual, Janelle is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, a service sorority whose purpose is to “provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities.” Janelle is also the former co-chair of the Harrisburg Area Delta G.E.M.S (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully), a community service program geared towards inspiring and enriching young women ages 14-18.
"I like that, at Harcum, [the student] experience is ‘personalized’” Williams says; “everyone here knows you by name; you’re not just a number.” Janelle’s goals as an Admissions Counselor are “to help the college achieve its admissions goals by increasing diversity and student retention.”
In Janelle’s free time, she enjoys scrapbooking and photography. Janelle’s favorite movie is “The Notebook,” and her favorite books include The Bible and The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. Janelle especially enjoys traveling to places with “islands and pretty water… like Jamaica,” she says. Janelle will be assisting students interested in Allied Health Science, Chiropractic Assistant, Medical Lab Technician, Histotechnician and Neurodiagnostic Technology.
