SCOTT, WEIJS NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICANS
Bryn Mawr, Pa. (July 6, 2010)--Harcum College men's basketball players C.J. Scott and Berend Weijs have been named NJCAA Academic All-Americans for the 2009-10 season. They become the first Harcum College men's basketball players to receive the honor in the program's history.
Scott, a sophomore guard from Seaford, Delaware, averaged 8 ppg this season, and will attend Loiusiana Tech next season. Weijs, a sophomore forward from the Netherlands, averaged 6.1 ppg and blocked a school record 119 shots. Weijs is headed to the University of Maryland next year. Together, they helped lead the Bears to a 26-3 record and #3 ranking in the final NJCAA Division I basketball poll.
NJCAA Academic All-Americans are required to keep a minimum gpa of 3.6 over four full-time semesters.
