Health Insurance

We offer three choices for medical insurance. Each plan includes a vision discount program. Employees who have questions about health coverage are encouraged to contact our insurance broker Armstrong, Doyle & Carroll directly.

Don't forget that Blue Cross offers a Flu Shot Reimbursement Program. The program pays up to $25 towards the cost of a flu shot. A reimbursement form must be completed to qualify.

Vision Discount Program

The vision discount program is through Davis Vision and is included as part of your health insurance. If you are covered by HMO/POS, then you are qualified for the $100 vision program. If you are covered by Personal Choice, you are are qualified for the $75 vision benefits.

Flexible Spending Account Program

Allows employee and family out-of-pocket expenses for dependent day care, dental care, vision care, medical expenses, co-pays and deductibles to be set-aside on a pre-tax basis. Tax savings are applicable to Federal withholding and Social Security taxes. Tax savings on all expenses other than dependent day care are subject to State income taxes. TIAA–CREF Retirement Program

Employees can elect to have a percentage of their salary or a specific dollar amount transferred from each paycheck to the TIAA-CREF Retirement plan of their choice. Read the guide to retirement if you are approaching retirement age or have questions.

As an employee of Harcum College, you and your immediate family members are eligible for membership with Sun Federal Credit Union. Credit Union membership provides you access to a lifetime of convenient and affordable financial services.

Holidays-Vacation-Sick Leave

As part of continuing efforts to “go green,” Harcum College has set up ezLabor Manager, an electronic database where Harcum employees may track their paid time off. Instead of filling out the Absence Report/Request for Time Off Form, faculty and staff can now request time off and see a balance of remaining time. Sick days must still be reported to your department supervisor, but will now be recorded electronically. Read the easy to follow instructions for requesting time off.

Supervisors may follow these directions to approve requests for time off as well as record sick time. It is important to check the ezLabor database periodically in order to approve time off and track sick time.

Electronic Paystubs

In an effort to be "green" the College went paperless with paycheck vouchers (pay stubs) on July 15, 2011. All vouchers can be accessed online by employees. Click here for more information and instructions to register to view your paystubs. Paychecks are issued on the 15th and last day of the month.  If any of those days fall on a weekend or holiday paychecks will be issued on the business day beforehand. Other Benefits

Other benefits include tuition reimbursement and free enrollment in Harcum courses, free attendance to athletic events, free parking, discounts on campus store purchases, free use of university facilities such as the gymnasium and library, and inexpensive meals at the dining hall.
