The English Language Academy is an intensive English language program for students who have completed high school. Here you can find professional instruction for academic Writing, Grammar, Reading, and Oral Communication. The curriculum also includes learning about American culture.
The ELA is ideal for non-native English speakers who want to improve their English skills for college or work. Our classes are separated into levels that are based on a placement test given during our new student orientation.
There are several start dates offered throughout the year for students seeking full- and part-time education. Additionally, housing is available for any students who wish to live on campus.
All students with F-1 visas are required to attend class full-time. Students who do not have F-1 visas may attend part-time, if their visa status allows part-time study. The English Language Academy does not offer admission to B-1/B-2 visa holders.
Students who have completed all Advanced Level courses in the English Language Academy are eligible to be admitted to Harcum College’s academic programs.
