Mitzi Snyder Forman '58 - Retail Merchandising
At the 2011 Homecoming, Mitzi Snyder Forman '58 was awarded the Community Service Award. This award recognizes an alumna/us who has touched their community thorough leadership involvement and/or provided significant impact on the community by virtue of their involvement in community organizations.
Inspired by her father, an amateur magician, Mitzi went to “clown school” and became a performer. About 8 years ago, she began to perform for the patients at St. Mary’s Hospital in Langhorne – near her home. Every Thursday, dressed as a clown named “Teddy”, she turns up at St. Mary’s in full clown regalia.
She tours the hospital visiting with patients and families. She chats, does a few tricks, leaves a fresh red, foam rubber nose and smiles all the way around.
Spreading smiles and easing pain is something Mitzi Forman does every Thursday. That adds up to a whole lot of smiles among the people who need it most.
